Target Sites
Wood-destroying insects can cause significant damage as they feed on materials containing cellulose found in structures, such as wood, paper, textiles, furnishings and works of art. Because these insects live most of their life cycle within their food source, the exact distribution and extent of infestation is often difficult to determine. Therefore, localized treatments using physical methods or conventional insecticides may not eradicate all wood-destroying insects. To solve this problem, sulfuryl fluoride was developed to be used against wood-destroying insects for a broad range of applications, including residences, buildings, historic monuments and museums.
Target Pests
ProFume is labeled to eliminate a range of difficult-to-control structural pests. The active ingredient penetrates wood to eliminate all live stages of wood-boring beetles and even drywood termite colonies, which can live entirely in structural wood that is inaccessible to inspection or insecticide treatments.
Old house borer
(Hylotrupes bajulus)
Powderpost beetles
(Lyctus brunneus)
Common house borer (Anobium punctatum)
Drywood termites (Cryptotermes brevis, Cryptotermes cavifrons, Kalotermes approximates, Incistermes, etc.)
Subterranean termites (Coptotermes formosanus, Reticulitermes)
Wood-destroying insects
- Pine wood nematode (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus)
Quarantine organisms in Belgium or another state
- Plant pests in dunnage wood, wood-packaging material and wood logs
- Plant pests in maritime freight (not for consumption)
