More than 55 years and 3 million homes

The active ingredient in ProFume fumigant is used in more than 20 nations and has protected more than 3 million homes from termite and other pest damage, as well as historical landmarks, churches, museums, research facilities, universities, hotels and even boats.

Trusted by homeowners. Preferred by professionals.

One treatment. Complete peace of mind.

A single treatment using ProFume® fumigant can eliminate pests that damage your home and quality of life. Best of all, a professional treatment with ProFume will not damage property or sensitive electronics, such as televisions or computers. And it has no odor and leaves no residues on surfaces once the treatment is completed.

Pests can’t escape ProFume

What makes ProFume so effective? It reaches all the pests where they live and hide — even wood-boring beetles and wood borers (drywood termites) hidden inside the wood they attack. Pests like bed bugs, spiders or cockroaches hidden in cracks and crevices can be difficult or even impossible to control with a conventional insecticide application, but they cannot escape a treatment with ProFume.

Home tented for fumigation

The “one-and-done” pest solution

Professional pest managers appreciate ProFume as a proven treatment to rid an entire home or commercial property of problem pests, including:

Wood-boring beetles

Wood-boring beetles can cause major damage to structural wood and even wooden furniture. An infestation begins with eggs laid on or in wood. The eggs hatch into larvae that feed on wood beneath its surface. When they reach the adult stage, the beetles emerge, leaving telltale exit holes and sometimes wood frass. Left untreated, the cycle can continue, potentially causing severe damage over time. A label treatment using ProFume is effective to control eggs.

Wood borers (drywood termites)

All termites are difficult to detect because they feed on interior wood. But wood borers (drywood termites) are especially difficult because the colony itself lives inside above-ground wood, often structural wood that’s inaccessible for inspection and many treatments. That’s why structural fumigation is recognised as the ONLY proven way to eliminate all drywood termites from a building, according to university researchers, government regulatory agencies, home mortgage lenders and pest management professionals.

Bed bugs

Bed bugs are back. And they’re a big challenge to control. Here’s why:

  • Contact with an insecticide is necessary for control, plus some bed bugs have developed resistance to some insecticides, making those treatments ineffective.
  • Bed bugs also are experts at staying hidden, making contact treatments difficult and time-consuming.
  • Getting rid of bed bugs requires eliminating the adults, nymphs and eggs. Eggs that survive an insecticide treatment can hatch weeks or months later and your problem starts all over again. ProFume fumigant is proven to reach and eliminate all bed bugs at all life stages.

Cockroaches
Cockroaches aren’t just a nuisance. They spread disease and contaminate foods. While conventional treatments are often effective, fumigation with ProFume can eliminate all cockroaches and their eggs from buildings and their contents.

Rodents

Rats and mice are a serious health threat to people and our food. They can damage property or pose a fire threat by chewing on wiring. However, rodents are highly susceptible to ProFume and can be eliminated with a low dose rate.

Spiders

Venomous black widow spiders are a serious health threat to people. A label treatment with ProFume can eliminate these tough-to-find and difficult-to-control spiders and their eggs from a structure.

No more pests. And no damage from treatment.

Art, animal specimens, papers and other museum artifacts can be protected with ProFume because it is effective without posing a risk to even the most sensitive materials. ProFume is nonstaining, noncorrosive, nonflammable and leaves no surface residues.

When you compare, the choice is clear.

Other options, but no alternative

While the efficacy of fumigation has been proven through research and more than 55 years of real-world use, some other treatments, such as heat or chemical spot treatments, claim comparable results. However, ProFume fumigant is the only treatment proven to completely eradicate drywood termites and other pest infestations — without damaging the structure or personal possessions.

Take a look at the options and see why fumigation is the smart choice:

Liquid spot treatments

Chemical spot treatments can be effective if the pest is located and the treatment contacts them. For wood borers (drywood termites), the challenge is locating the colony hidden inside your wood — because some structural wood is simply located in areas that can’t be inspected or reached by the liquid. Fumigation with ProFume penetrates every millimeter of space in your structure, so it is proven effective against wood borers, wood-boring beetles, bed bugs and other problem pests.

Fumigation (one-and-done) treatments
Fumigation eliminates target pests from homes, apartments, condominiums, office complexes, hotels, warehouses, retail stores, light industrial buildings and any other structure with wood framing or components. Any of these structures are prone to attack by wood borer (drywood termites) and beetles or infestation by bed bugs, cockroaches and other pests.

Whole-structure fumigation can be done using a tape-and-seal method or by tenting the building with tarps. Additionally, some items may be fumigated in dedicated fumigation chambers, in stationary moving pods, or in moving or cargo trucks or trailers. These options ensure that fumigation with ProFume reaches and eliminates pests anywhere they might lurk, such as inside mattresses, sofas and electronics.

The fumigation process

How to Prepare for a Fumigation

For a fumigation to be successful, there are a few simple tasks that must be completed by the homeowners before your pest management company arrives. Watch the video above for a quick demonstration of how to get your home ready for fumigation.

How fumigation works

If your pest control professional is recommending fumigation with ProFume fumigant, you should know that you are in good hands. ProFume is the No. 1 brand in the industry, with the highest standards in training and certification. Depending upon the pest, your licensed fumigator will determine the proper fumigation plan to provide you with a pest-free property and do so using the specific dose necessary for the target pest instead of a standard rate. The main steps include:

  1. Your home is carefully prepped and sealed. Think of the building itself sealed as a balloon; it is necessary to hold the fumigant in long enough to kill the targeted pests.
  2. The space to be treated is filled with fumigant. It makes its way throughout your home, seeking out every wood borer or other target pest, no matter where it’s hiding.
  3. Every single target pest dies, even those hiding in your roof or joinery where they have been eating away at your home. (Note that geckos are not a target pest and may survive a fumigation, but that does not indicate the treatment was not successful against the target pest.)
  4. The tape or tarp is removed. The fumigant completely exits your home and does not leave behind surface residue or living termites or other target pests.
  5. You return to a home that is pest-free.

A look inside the fumigation process

Fumigation with ProFume® fumigant finds every nook, every cranny, every pest, leaving your home 100% free of those destructive, unwanted houseguests. And because it does not leave behind surface residue, there’s nothing left to worry about.
